Lightning Travel Hockey
Ages (2026-2027 Season)
USA Hockey has a youth ice hockey age classification aligned with the calendar year for registration purposes. The age divisions are as follows:
Mite (birth year): 2018 - 2020
Squirt (birth year): 2016 - 2017
Pee Wee (birth year): 2014 - 2015
13u: 2013
14u: 2012
15u: 2011
16u: 2010
18u : 2008 & 2009
When
On-ice practices will begin on August 2nd (expectation of Mites). Off-Ice training with Athlete Protocol will begin in July for some teams. Games & Practices will end in February.
Where
Practices and home games will be held at the City of Long Beach Ice Arena.
Practices
Each team will have 2 practices per week. There will also be additional skills session for teams throughout the season. Goalie instruction will be available.
games
Teams will play in the LIAHL & EJEPL (exception of Mites). Pee Wee AA, 14u, 16u, 18u will also play qualifying games for the New York State Tournament.
uniforms
Players are responsible for purchasing their game jerseys, socks, and shell. Practice uniforms and warm-up jackets will be provided to each player. Additional apparel will be available to purchase throughout the season.

Registration is now open for Mites, Squirts, & Pee Wees.
